HVAC Tune-Ups

American Home Shield® offers pre-season HVAC Tune-ups to our members - once in the spring to prepare for warm days ahead and then again in the fall to ensure that your heater is ready for the winter. Our HVAC tune-ups are $100 per unit with the ShieldEssential and ShieldPlus plans. If you have our ShieldComplete plan, you get your choice of one free Rekey or HVAC Tune-up Service per contract term and unlimited AC refrigerant.

You won't pay a service fee but you will be charged $100 per unit (plus sales tax where applicable). Should a covered issue be found that requires repair, you will be charged your service fee for that separate service request. If you are a ShieldComplete member, you get your choice of one free Rekey or HVAC Tune-up Service per contract term. 

Refrigerant should be checked during your spring HVAC tune-up every year and refilled when necessary.

Your refrigerant levels will be checked during the spring AC tune-up. If your AC system needs a refrigerant refill to keep the air in your home cool, our ShieldEssential and ShieldPlus plans.provide refrigerant at the discounted rate of $10/pound. The ShieldComplete plan offers unlimited refrigerant at no cost.If a refrigerant refill is required, you will be charged your service fee for that separate service request.

You can place your first service request once your coverage begins on the day of closing. Service requests can easily be placed 24/7 online via MyAccount or by calling 1-888-691-2854 during standard business hours to request service.

It's an annual home warranty plan that helps with the cost and hassle when parts of your home systems and appliances break down. Our real estate-specific plans are offered to both home buyers and sellers and coverage begins immediately. You will also get protection for things other home warranties might not cover, like old home systems and appliances, insufficient maintenance, improper installations or repairs, mismatched HVAC systems in certain circumstances, and more.
